We are looking forward to opening the doors soon to our purpose built, dog-led holistic canine rehabilitation centre based in North Devon; a place where healing begins with trust, choice and compassion.
The Complete Canine provides high-quality, evidence-based care through a range of advanced facilities including; our dog Hydrotherapy pool, canine Hydrotherapy Treadmill, canine Physiotherapy suite, Class 4 laser, Manual/Proprioception Therapies among others. Whether your dog is managing a chronic condition like arthritis or hip dysplasia, requires neurological support, is recovering from surgery, or simply needs routine maintenance to support fitness and wellbeing, our qualified professional team are here to support you and your dog every step of the way.
Conveniently located just outside Barnstaple, our centre is easily accessible from across North Devon, including; Braunton, Umberleigh, Chulmleigh, Winkleigh, Torrington, Bideford and South Molton.
With a combined 25 years of hands-on experience in canine care, Gemma and Vikki bring a wealth of expertise, offering an in-depth understanding of canine wellbeing.
Through years of working closely with dogs in a variety of settings, Gemma and Vikki saw first hand just how well dogs mask pain and how easily it can be mistaken for behavioural issues; this insight sparked their commitment to delivering considerate, compassionate and individualised treatment plans that help every dog recover, thrive and live their best lives.
This rehabilitation centre was born from their shared love of dogs and is being designed from the ground up, (quite literally with Gemma and Vikki being involved in every aspect of the build); all with the dog’s wellbeing at the core.
What we offer
Physiotherapy
Animal physiotherapy focusses on enhancing your dogs mobility, strength, movement, range of motion and quality of life for your dog; while reducing pain and helping to prevent further injuries. Each rehabilitation plans is tailored to the individual dog and includes lifestyle management advice along with therapeutic exercise plans.
Hydrotherapy pool
Hydrotherapy in a pool, uses the therapeutic properties of warm water, combined with the guidance of a trained hydrotherapist to enable non weight bearing exercise. This approach offers numerous benefits, including; reducing pain, improved mobility, increased strength and enhanced overall fitness.
Aquatic Treadmill
Hydrotherapy in an aquatic treadmill allows for precise control of water levels and treadmill speed, enabling each session to be individually tailored to your dogs specific needs.
Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation)
Our Companion Animal class 4 Therapeutic Laser is
an evidence based therapy which effectively treats a wide variety of conditions.
Massage therapy
A manual therapy used as a valuable addition to your dogs rehabilitation, or as a maintenance. Benefits include, reducing pain, increasing circulation and aiding mobility.
